Women’s Perspective: Understanding the Importance of Economic and Social Justice

In conjunction with the World Refugee Month, Women in Rail Malaysia together with YTL Construction and PichaEats organized an online talk entitled Women’s Perspective: Understanding the Importance of Economic and Social Justice on 11th June 2021 via Zoom.

We were privileged to have Ms. Logeetha Balakrishnan, the Makan Advisor of Picha Eats as the speaker of this talk where she shared inspiring stories about the refugee communities in Malaysia and how they had to work very hard to make a living in this county.

In this talk, Ms. Logeetha also shared the reasons they started PichaEats, their hopes and dreams and the importance of us, Malaysians, to come together in providing refugees a chance to rebuild their lives safely and happily.

PichaEats, a renowned advocate for refugees, began operations in 2013 as a refugee learning center before turning it into a food business in 2016, providing an opportunity for the refugee community to cook and earn a living.
